Wound Healing and Patient Safety Welcome to the division of wound healing and patient safety in the department of orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. The division provides specialized care for difficult-to-heal wounds of the lower extremity. Healing is addressed from a systemic perspective with a multidisciplinary team approach. Care plans are guided by evidence-based practice with the most current clinical advancements in the field of limb salvage. Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Providing high quality patient-centered care is the driving force within the department of orthopaedic surgery. The tenets of Just Culture are applied universally to ensure the safest environment for our patients. Patient Safety education is provided for resident physicians along with continued expert guidance to develop quality improvement projects within all aspects of health care; inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care.
